Edit Monday, 11/2: Comments closed! Winner announced later today!
Sorry the blog has been so quiet this week (I know, I missed a Wacky Wednesday!) – I’ve been up to my eyeballs in orders that are starting to roll in for the holiday season!
We did take time out today to *ahem* carve *ahem* pumpkins for Halloween. Mikel said something earlier this month about wanting to turn it into a contest, so I figured, why not let y’all decide the winner? Take a look at the pumpkins below, leave your vote, and leave a comment too – a random commenter will get a prize!
I’ll let you guess whose pumpkin is whose…
Don’t forget to leave a comment after you vote to be entered into the drawing for a prize! (Prize to be determined later…)
Phil, Paola, and Lily are our fabulous neighbors who we love hanging out with, so I was super excited when they said they wanted a session this fall! We went to park that I’ve never shot at before and it was so much fun! Loved it!
How super-cute is Lily?

I have several shots from this series. I love them all and everything about them – the light, the expressions, the duck floating in the background… perfect!
K Family, thanks for taking the field trip out to the park with us! We always love seeing you! Your full gallery will be ready soon.
Friday nights have become work nights for me during the football season. While Mikel is away with his marching band, I use the time to try to get as much done with the photography business as I possibly can – for 2 reasons. 1. The house is quiet and I can concentrate without a whole lot of distractions. 2. I don’t feel like such a bad wife thinking that I could be spending time with Mikel, but I’m chained to my computer. There’s absolutely no guilt in spending Friday nights concentrating on the biz. So, Friday nights are a perfect solution for me. Usually.
Tonight, I’m missing having Mikel at home. The football season is drawing to a close and I know I only have a couple more weeks of solo Friday nights, but it’s just one of those things. You know? Hopefully you’ve been there and know what I’m talking about so that you know I’m not crazy – relishing (and even enjoying!) the solitude but still a little lonely.
Well, I was just finishing up working on a client gallery and this perked me up a little bit:
Hello, Sunshine! How cute are you?! Look at that face! You can’t not smile when you look at that face!
Thanks for perking up my Friday night, Mr. Conner. (P.S. Jen – check your e-mail! Your gallery is ready!)
I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it to Wacky Wednesday tonight (although, I’m not sure if anyone would have cared – anyone out there a Wacky Wednesday fan?) as I have been adrift in a sea of college recommendations for my former students (how is it that now that I don’t teach high school anymore, I have more recommendations than ever?!). Luckily, I have gotten them done (yes, I’m talking about yours, Demi, Colleen, and Janice!) and they will be in the mail tomorrow. Now, for some wacky-ness… or wacky cake. Mmmm. Wacky cake. Did anyone else have that at their elementary school? I loved Wacky Cake… delicious…
*snaps out of it*
Back to Wacky Wednesday!

Mikel and I enjoyed (well… sorta…) a free Stars game thanks to Razor, the color commentator for the Stars. Why, you ask? Well, before the first Stars game of the season (which Mikel and I attended), Razor promised a Stars win for the first game or he’d buy everyone in attendance tickets to another game. Well, the Stars lost that game, and he made good on the promise – so off we went! The Stars lost, but here’s an iPhone pic of the warm up before the game:

In honor of UT beating OU (Texas Fight!), a little funny featuring Mack Brown, coach of the Longhorns:

Anyone else out there a to do list person? I am totally a to do list person. I’m working on one right now that is ridiculously long – there’s everything on it from “get caught up on client galleries” to “clean up house” to “reorganize recipes.” It’s kind of crazy. I kick it old school to – even though I have an iPhone app that is designed for to do lists, I always do mine with pen and paper – there’s just something so satisfying about crossing something off of the list!

Speaking of the to do list, I better get back to it! So much stuff to do, so little time at home each night!
Finally… the holiday photos sneak peek I promised!
Miss Kendall got to jump in on the fun – she was looking beautiful and sweet as ever!
A solo shot of Miss Kelsey as well…
I had the girls do a serious shot… love it! They look gorgeous (don’t worry Mama, there are a bunch of happy, smile-y ones as well!)
Speaking of their pretty smiles…
I love how this family always coordinates what they’re wearing without being too matchy-matchy!
F Family, thanks for your patience with this second sneak peek! I’m getting to your gallery as quickly as I can. Also, Kelsey – I’m going right now to put your senior sneaks on Facebook for you to tag!

About Deena
I'm a Texas Native, Plano Wildcat (Class of '01!), wife, daughter, sister, and soon-to-be Mommy of a little girl who will be making her debut in August of 2010. I currently am a teacher as well - imparting knowledge of US History on the moldable, and sometimes easily distractable, minds of 8th graders at a public middle school in the DFW area.
I have been studying photography since I was 13 - I joined the yearbook staff my 8th grade year and never looked back! Design and photography became my artistic outlet to an often nerdy existance - after all, I was the captain of the Whiz Quiz team (think team Jeopardy) my senior year in high school!
I love my life and hope you come back often to share your joy with me!
