Wacky Wednesday #8

So… this Wacky Wednesday is the special-est one of them all, in my humble opinion. It’s snowing, Mikel and I are all snuggled in with our puppy and kitty… and I’m expecting! That’s right! (If you’re my friend on Facebook, this probably isn’t news to you…). We are so excited to tell everyone that Baby Riley is coming in August! We’ve been trying for quite some time, so I am so happy and grateful to finally be able to make this post! I promise not to post *too* much stuff about my impending mommyhood on this blog (I know some of you are just here for the images!), but if you are interested in keeping up with my pregnancy and our journey to parenthood, you can always check out baby’s new blog:

Waitin’ on Tater

(the name will be explained when you get there!)

I am so excited for 2010 (as you might imagine), and I will have bunches of fun things coming in the next few days on the blog – new stuff for the biz, etc.

Oh, and things are more fun with images… here’s our Christmas card this year (ok, so more graphics-y than image-y):

Giving is Awesome Winner!

The winner of the Giving is Awesome contest is Mel & Jose! Congratulations! They were nominated by their sister-in-law, Heidi. Due to the sensitive nature of part of their story, I’m not going to share all of Heidi’s e-mail that nominated them, but I will give you a quick run down of their story:

While dealing with a family emergency, Mel and Jose were called upon to take into their custody 2 precious children – a 1 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. They (the children) were not in the best of health at the time, but Mel & Jose took them into their hearts and their home last December without question. A year later, Mel & Jose are now on the road to officially adopting both children and I couldn’t be more excited to extend to them the opportunity to have custom photography of their new “official” family!

Their story hit very close to home, as Mikel and I have a similar story in our family with one of Mikel’s brothers being called upon to do much the same thing. I am so excited to work with Mel, Jose, and their 2 youngins!

Thanks for all of the touching entries! It was hard to choose! I hope to be doing more giveaways like this in the near future – I love to help others in need!

xoxo,

Deena

Terrific Thursday!

Ugh… so I have missed *many* a Wacky Wednesday over the past few weeks and I feel bad! I’ve been bogged down in the triple threat of busy seasons: photography Christmas rush, finals (and finals prep) at school, and family/friends holiday rush. So many things going on! I promise to make a valiant effort not to neglect this blog as much! Anywhoodles, on with the show!

————————

Have you checked out the Giving is Awesome post above? I hope you have! I would love to give away a fantastic gift this holiday season to someone in need who deserves it! Please open your heart and nominate someone you know!

————————

I’m very boring with my own holiday wish list this year: sheets that fit my ridiculously thick bed, some new towels and one of these cool Kitchenaid Mixer thingys (it’s a technical term – don’t hate):

kitchenaidIt scrapes the bowl as it mixes. It’s brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that?! I could have been a millionaire. Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda. In any event, as you can see – my list = boring. What’s on your holiday wish list this year? Anything interesting?

————————

Speaking of the holidays, anyone have fun plans for New Year’s yet? We went to the Stars game last year, which was oodles of fun, but I’m not sure if we’re going to do it again this year. We will probably end up just staying in, watching the game, and enjoying being in our jammies. But, I’m open to ideas!

————————

I know I owe y’all a winner for the November comment contest – I am woefully behind. Let me get past this weekend (uber delivery weekend) and I’ll get on getting a winner selected! Thanks for your patience!

————————

I’m working on so many fun things for 2010 for DRP – a VIP program (ooh ahh… some of you have already achieved VIP status too… oooh ahh), specials for teachers, specials for military personnel (in addition to my partnership with OpLove), some AWESOME products that will blow your socks off – the list goes on and on. I’ve been so inspired by all of the fun clients I’ve had this fall, many of which you will see again soon (lots of Baby’s First Year plans going on right now!) – I can’t wait to get everything perfect and roll out all of these great things!
OK… I’m sleepy. Thanks for hanging in there with me over the past few weeks. I know blog posts have been few and far between some weeks! I promise to return to our regularly scheduled blogging soon!
