Thankfully, eloping kept the budget pretty reasonable and there was no time to ponder photogs (that's what in-laws with cameras are for!) but I do occasionally still have moments of angst when I see what friends go through and think of how I'd have handled it (other than eloping!) Personally, I think your insights add to the photos but don't at all detract from the subjects. If you represent yourself as a soulless camera on a tripod, people don't know what to expect beyond the actual photos. Granted, I also know your inherent joy and thus feel it when I look at your work =) Such great advice!
